Global
Peace Meditation Day
Sunday,
20th May, 2007 - Sydney Australia

"
Never before have so many people committed to come together on the same
day to meditate for peace on our violence-prone and war-ravaged planet.
We expect that this will influence both the meditators themselves, and
their communities locally and worldwide"
Dr. Ervin Laszlo, (Nobel Peace Prize Nomination - 2004, 2005, 2006,
Recipient Japan Peace Prize 2001)
This
is a historic event - never before have so many people from different
faiths and different parts of the world come together to meditate for
peace at the same time. We expect up to 150,000 people, across 12 countries
will participate in this synchronized event.
In 2007 the Australian event will
be held in Victoria Park, City Road, Camperdown, NSW,

Victoria
Park has hosted many peace events and has the capacity to support the
1000 people expected to attend.
The
day will start at 11.00am on Sunday 20th May with the arrival of the
World Peace Flame.
Participants
in the event include;
Stephanie
Dowrick: In June 2005 Stephanie was ordained in New York as an Interfaith
Minister. She has for many years given talks and conducted retreats
and workshops on a variety of spiritual, psychological and ethical issues
and continues to develop this aspect of her work. She gives regular
Interfaith services at Pitt Street Uniting Church, 264 Pitt Street,
Sydney, 2000.
She
is profoundly interested in exploring how we can look more positively
at ourselves, our utterly precious gift of life and the society we are
collectively creating. This exploration drives her life and work. For
more than two decades writing has been her main occupation. She is the
author of a number of life-changing best-selling books, including Intimacy
and Solitude, Forgiveness and Other Acts of Love, The Universal Heart
and Choosing Happiness: Life & Soul Essentials.
Isira Sananda: Isira Sananda is a global peace ambassador. Her
role is to inspire humanity to reclaim their own greater potential of
wisdom, love, peace and compassion. Isira is one of the modern worlds
spiritual masters. She has been teaching meditation and inspiring self-realisation
for over 20 years.
She
is a leader and expert of human consciousness an example to us
all of our common human spirit, our uniting power of truth, wisdom of
love and higher potential. Isira is inter-faith and inter-spirit. She
speaks from the heart of all religions, and all are welcomed. Her teaching
unifies science, religion, social and cultural differences, and personal
development - in the context of peace within the collective whole.
Paul Wilson: Some people think of Paul Wilson as the businessman-author
who wrote all those books with 'Calm' in the title and started the 'little
book' phenomenon with the Little Book of Calm. Yet he is equally well
known as a teacher of meditation, in the Eighties and Nineties he introduced
millions of readers to its wonders.
He
thrives in a number of worlds where life balance is longed for but seldom
achieved - among other things he's a businessman, has served on many
company boards, is corporate adviser and director of a medical research
foundation.
Prof.
Dr. Ervin Laszlo: Prof. Dr. Ervin Laszlo, founder and President
of the Club of Budapest, was one of the first representatives in the
area of systems philosophy and general theory of evolution. He published
nearly 70 books translated into as many as 18 languages. In the course
of his long academic career as a professor for philosophy, systems philosophy
and future sciences, he worked in teaching and research at a variety
of reputable universities in the US, Europe, and the Far East.
Dr.
Laszlo serves not only as President of the Club of Budapest and head
of the General Evolution Research Group, which he founded. He was the
former President of the International Society for Systems Sciences,
Advisor of the UNESCO Director General, Ambassador of the International
Delphic Council, member of the International Academy of Science, the
World Academy of Arts and Science and the International Academy of Philosophy,
as well as either holding or held positions as a board member or extraordinary
member of numerous international associations, including, at one time,
the Club of Rome.
Local
gatherings will be organised in many countries and cities worldwide.
If you are unable to join us in Sydney check out the international
